The Hopefuls

The Hopefuls were a satirical, theatrical punk band that covered the 2016 presidential elections based in Philadelphia, PA. Co-created and performed by John Chandler Hawthorne, Francesca Montanile Lyons, Jenna Strusowski, Sara Vanasse, and Michael T. Williams. Music Video by Born Lucky Studios. Lead Artist: John C. Hawthorne.

Between June 2015 and November 2016 we played sixteen shows. Our work was presented by First Person Arts and the Center for Peace and Global Citizenship at Haverford College. Our PUNK ELECTION FANTASIA, performed the weekend before the election, received support from the Knight Foundation via Citizen University’s Joy of Voting Initiative. They performed their last show on November 8, 2016.
